The goal of JL Therapeutics is to help individuals overcome health-related adversities.  After overcoming my own life challenges, from physical health to mental stressors, I have dedicated myself to continued education in health sciences so that I can help others down the path of recovery.

JL Therapeutics is different in that it offers more than massage.  We leverage a variety of massage and bodywork techniques to bring you relief.  With customized short-term plans to relieve acute, one-off ailments and long-term plans for preventative care or to treat chronic issues, we can meet your specific needs to better health.

Although in almost all cases massage therapy is proven to be beneficial to your health, we recognize that it can't solve all concerns.  For better health, massage therapy works in coordination with diet, exercise, physical therapy, chiropractic care, internal medicine, orthopedics and psychiatric care.  Often times the solution will combine a number of remediation steps in multiple healthcare disciplines.

We would like to be with you during the first step in your journey to better health.  We'll not only recommend a therapeutic solution involving massage techniques but also, through consultation, talk through other healthcare options.  Healthcare is complicated and sometimes you need someone with whom you can comfortably and confidentially discuss your options.  Although we do not have physicians on staff, we have relationships with many in a variety of disciplines and respect the fact that all play a critical role in helping individuals lead a healthy, happy, pain-free life.

Gain comfort that the initial consultation and every visit after will be protected by HIPPA.  Also, we're very cognizant of your time.  If you book a session, you'll receive therapy for the amount of time you booked - not for the time we talk before the session or the time it takes to you to change (if necessary).  Our therapists take great pride in making you feel comfortable - both physically and mentally - and ensuring that the time and money you invest is maximized.

I hold the belief that everyone should take time for self care.  My commitment is to work with you as your needs change from session to session.  Personally, I'm dedicated to a healthy lifestyle including daily exercise and preparing clean and nutritious foods for my family.   I was a personal and group fitness instructor for over 10 years, have managed health food stores and have led boot camps for expecting mothers.

With three daughters, I was motivated to create an after-school health and fitness program.  I teamed up with a dietitian and we began teaching healthy food habits and providing exercise routines for children.  In my own home, my middle daughter has Celiac Disease, an auto-immune disorder where one has an intolerance to even trace amounts of gluten.   I too eat gluten-free and am predominantly vegetarian.

I have first hand experience dealing with physical and mental aspects of aches and pains.  I grew up as a competitive figure-skater through my early teens before transitioning to volleyball, where I played at high school and collegiate levels.  As a result, I have dealt with physical health challenges.  I'm still working through these issues - from lower spine trauma and concussions from hitting the ice, to cervical and repetitive motion issues as a setter in volleyball.

On a very personal level, I was widowed at the age of 34. At that time our daughters were 2, 4, and 6. I understand grief, I understand NOT understanding death. I understand high pressured professions and less-than-ideal physical limitations.

I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals with the same passion and dedication I have towards my own body and that of my children and loved ones.
